Film Scanning and Recording
Over the last 20 years of working in high-end post-production in Soho, London, I have come across a wide range of scenarios with film negative scanning and recording and have been able to advise our clients providing a strategy for them to work successfully.
I installed and commissioned London's first ARRI Laser film recorder for the Film VFX department at MPC.
Additionally I made the initial investigation of the Cinevator real-time film recorder in Norway, submitting a report to MPC's parent company Technicolor who have gone on to buy several of these units.
I have supervised film scanning on most commercially available film scanners and have carried out numerous scan comparisons from these systems.
A year prior to the introduction of Thomson Spirit 4K scanner I was invited to Germany to take part in a small focus group chosen worldwide to advise on the product prior to its official release.
